Natural Haloxylon Woods Protection Project of Zhaosutaolegaigacha, Jilantai Town

　　Cooperation Agreement Reached between Banner Government, Town Government and ALXA SEE Ecological Association

　　On August 27, 2004, aiming at protection of natural Haloxylon woods and harmonized relations between herdsman and nature in Zhaosutaolegai, ALXA SEE Ecological Association, ALXA Forestry Administration, and JILANTAI Town Government reached an agreement in terms of project management, financial management and etc, which would be followed and implemented by the three parties during the project implementation.

　　A Project Management Committee has been established, consisting of seven people from the three parties (3 herdsmen representatives, 2 persons from Jilantai Town Government, and 2 persons from ALXA SEE Ecological Association), which has the supreme rights of decision making and management of the project. One Vice Head of Jilantai Town will be appointed as the direct leader of the executive team of the project, who is responsible for normal operation of the project. Jilantai Town Government is responsible for providing seeds and fertilizers, and for calling back outsourcing land of 215 mu (1 mu = 1/15 of a hectare) withindays since the implementation of the project, which will be used for feedstuff/fodder base of the project.

　　ALXA SEE Ecological Association is responsible for advancing of the project process and technical training of all related persons. And the Forestry Administration is responsible for forestry-related law execution, and shall arrange appropriate authorities to execute the laws and regulations in case of any breach of forestry-related laws and regulations in the project area.
